COMP: Defensible Documentation [0.1 CEU]

This course will discuss how the medical record fulfills three important functions. First, it provides information about the patient's current condition, treatment response, and progress. Second, it serves as a legal record of the care provided. Third, it provides information used for reimbursement by third party payers.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the three main purposes of documentation
- State documentation guidelines that relate to being: factual, accurate, complete, timely
- Describe what is required to maintain patient confidentiality, and list several exceptions to confidentiality rules
