March's webinar will cover the newly distinguished chapters in ICD-10, Chapter 7: The Eye & Adnexa and Chapter 8: The Ear & Mastoid Process. We also have a guest speaker, Jeffrey Freedman, Senior Manager of Audits & Consulting from Healthcare Coding & Consulting Services (HCCS) , who will be providing information on the critical task of reviewing your clinic's documentation and providing feedback to your physicians. Dr. James Dunnick will also be present to provide his insightful physician perspective. You don't want to miss this webinar!

Physician training will include documentation elements that physicians should start incorporating now. Examples of coding common diagnoses in ICD-10 will be provided to highlight important and necessary details that will need to be incorporated in the provider's documentation. Administrative training will include how to assess your vendor's readiness with experts in the field providing important step-by-step instructions to determine what actions you may need to take now in order to prepare for ICD-10 implementation.

Each month we will cover topics to enhance physician understanding of the documentation requirements with ICD-10-CM. We will begin with the ICD-10-CM documentation and coding training followed by what we will call an administrative checkpoint which will include critical topics to help your practice stay on track to ensure a smooth transition.

Comparison of ICD-9-CM to ICD-10-CM,Universal tips to start incorporating now, Documentation requirements for ICD-10-CM, Enhancements for ICD-10-CM

Administrative training to include:
Gap Analysis, Budget preparation, GEMs & Developing a Crosswalk, Performing documentation reviews to assist physicians, Vendor readiness

When: 12:30 1:30 pm on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. All webinars will be recorded and available on www.hthu.net/physicianicd10.

Who: Physicians and their office staff to include nurses, managers, coders, and others who will be impacted by the coding transition.
